– WPCC Main Campus – WPCC Leviton Auditorium Till is the story of Emmett Louis Till and the legacy of his mother, who pursued justice for her lynched son – Cost: $72.25 This course will be 5.0 hours total which will be setup into 2 days in person. The student will receive a NCCER card as well as a certificate of completion for Basic Safety (Module 00101). The course of objectives as follows: “Explain the benefits of safety, the cost of workplace incidents, and way to reduce related hazards. Describe common fall hazards and methods to prevent them. Recognize and avoid struck-by and caught-in-between hazards. Identify common electrical hazards and how to avoid them. Associate personal protective equipment (PPE) with the hazards they reduce or eliminate. Describe safety practices used with other common job-site hazards.” (NCCER Module 00101). The performance tasks as follows: “Properly setup and climb/ descend on an extension ladder, demonstrating proper three-point of contact. Inspect the following to determine if they are safe to use; eye protection, hearing, hard hat, gloves, fall arrest harnesses, lanyard, connecting devices, approved footwear. Properly fit and removal of the following PPE: eye protection, hearing protection, hard hat, glove and Fall arrest harness. Inspect a typical power cord and GFCI to ensure their serviceability.” (NCCER Module 00101). TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) tests for the Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II

It is offered through Western Piedmont Community College and the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina to train motorists in the principles of defensive driving. – In order to be admitted into the NA I program, you must: Additional Information Once you have completed the above requirements, you will be allowed to register for the NA I class. Continuing Education classes offered through our Workforce and Professional Development Division, have a pre-registration policy, with the exception of Fire/Rescue, Law Enforcement, HRD and CTP program areas. Students must register and pay any registration fees two business days/48 business hours prior to the start date of the class. For example Class starts on Monday, the last day to register is 5:00 pm on Wednesday. Students may register via the following methods: Class sessions meet in Room 166 of the Foothills Higher Education Center on Sterling Street in Morganton. The cost of the course is $235. Additional costs include book, health form, uniforms, etc. Write down the section number of the class you want to register for to enter in the online registration below. Nurse Aide I - March 11 - May 2, 2024 – If you have been charged with a minor violation in the 36th North Carolina Judicial District, you may elect to have it reduced by the District Attorney by completing a 4-hour defensive driving course. It is offered through Western Piedmont Community College and the Safety and Health Council of North Carolina to train motorists in the principles of defensive driving. This 24-hour local anesthesia certification course is for dental hygienists practicing for at least two years. The online aspect of this course is taught through a series of modules developed by a dentist with a background in online and distance learning. The clinical component is completed in 8 hours and incorporates several hands-on exercises, injections on anesthesia manikins, and using Safe-D-Needles before working on a peer patient. Once completed, the hygienist will receive 24 hours of NSBDE-approved continuing education and the required paperwork to submit for your local anesthesia certification. March 11, 2024 Nurse Aide I provides you the opportunity to pursue a healthcare career with entry-level skills in a hospital or nursing home setting. Upon successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for The Nurse Aide I test administered through Credentia. After passing the state test, you will be listed on the Nurse Aide I registry at DHHS. CPR for Basic Life Support Certification is now included with this class.
