Transfer Programs

WPCC’s transfer programs allow students to earn an associates degree while completing core courses toward a bachelors degree at a four-year institution. 

WPCC’s college transfer programs are designed to prepare you for the next step. You will work closely with your WPCC advisor to complete your transfer college or university’s requirements and enter as a junior. All courses in WPCC’s transfer degree programs are accepted at 16 University of North Carolina institutions.

We offer 5 College Transfer Degrees.

 

Associate in Arts (AA)

AA is a two-year degree for students plan to attend a 4-year institution and majoring in a liberal arts program such as Business, Psychology, Sociology, English, Pre-Law, Marketing, etc.

Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation (AATP)

AATP is a two-year degree program that prepares students for  transfer to a four-year university, major in Education and move into public teaching either as an  elementary or middle school teacher. The AATP is specifically for students interested in teaching in fields  related to the Social Sciences and Humanities.

Associate in Science (AS)

AS is a two-year degree for students who plan to attend a 4-year institution and majoring in a Math/Science related programs such as: Math, Engineering, Pre-Med, Pre-Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Biology, Chemistry, etc.

Comprehensive Articulation Agreements 

The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement (CAA) is a statewide agreement governing the transfer of credits between NC community colleges and NC public universities. This agreement was designed to promote the smooth transfer of students.

Transfer Guides, formerly known as Baccalaureate Degree Plans (BDPs), have been developed to provide students with a more seamless transfer experience. Transfer Guides outline meaningful coursework at the community college that leads to both associate degree completion and bachelor’s degree completion at a student’s intended university

The NC Independent College Articulation Agreement (ICAA) allows a student to make a seamless  transfer to several private colleges and universities maximizing earned credits. 

 

Some Associate in Applied Science degrees may transfer in full or in-part to a four-year institution.  WPCC has Articulation Agreements with several institutions.
