Study for the ASVAB or AFCT! Prepare for entry into the Armed Forces by mastering the essential skills for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) or the Armed Forces Classification Test (AFCT). This comprehension review course focuses on the core competencies needed for military success.

Eligibility: Students must be at least 18 years old and have a North Carolina mailing address. Minors are not eligible to enroll.

Hyflex Course: Students may choose to attend in person on campus, online via Microsoft Teams, or mix and match formats week to week based on their schedule.

Teams Attendance: Online attendance is tracked automatically via your Teams display name. Your profile must show your official first and last name to match the roster and receive course credit. Nicknames or device names (like Sarah's iPad) are not accepted.

Certified Excel - Basics Part 1  (Section #76374 )

Time: Class will meet on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 pm in Carr Hall Room 244-B. Class will have an online component in addition to classroom hours.

Description: Take your Excel skills from beginner to confident user with this hands-on course designed to help you master the essential spreadsheet tools used in today’s workplace. You will learn the core foundations of spreadsheet design, including creating, saving, editing, and formatting professional workbooks.  As you progress, you will move into data analysis and visualization, gaining real-world skills you can apply immediately to business, school, or personal projects. Who this is for: Whether you are starting completely from scratch or refreshing your existing knowledge, this course provides the foundation you need to work smarter and more efficiently.

Scholarships Available: The SECU Bridge to Career Scholarship is designed to help remove financial barriers for students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials. Apply and check eligibility HERE.

This course is offered in two parts. You may register for either part - enrollment in Part 1 is not required to take Certified Excel - Intermediate Part 2.
These courses prepare students to be Microsoft Certified in Excel. Exam fee is covered by WPCC.

Description: Notary classes are essential for anyone interested in becoming a Notary Public. They provide necessary knowledge and skills to perform notarial acts and adhere to state regulations. This class covers a range of topics, including notary duties, responsibilities, laws, regulations, proper procedures, and more. After completing the class, you will need to obtain your notary commission from your state, which involves submitting an application, paying required fees, and providing proof of completions.

Materials: Students will need to purchase and read through the notary public handbook prior to class!! The handbook is available for purchase in the WPCC bookstore at ($26) or online at North Carolina Notary Public Manual (2026) | UNC School of Government. You should also have a current valid acceptable ID. Please note no laptops are allowed.

Build Your Digital Skills - Learn essential computer and digital skills for work, school, and everyday life through WPCC’s Northstar Digital Literacy Class. - This class combines in-person instruction with independent online coursework to help students strengthen the technology skills needed for education, employment, and daily life

Who Can Enroll?
The class is offered through WPCC Adult Education and may be available to adults who:
• Are enrolled in Adult High School
• Are preparing for a High School Equivalency credential
• Are English Language Learners
• Already have a high school diploma but need additional support with basic academic or foundational skills

New to WPCC Adult Education? You may still qualify. New students must complete Adult Education orientation and meet program eligibility requirements before beginning the class.

Earn a Free Laptop
15 laptops are available to eligible students who successfully complete the program requirements.

To qualify for a laptop, students must:
• Complete a pre-test
• Attend at least 80% of scheduled class meetings
• Complete a minimum of 12 hours of independent online study
• Complete a post-test

Only 20 seats are available. Pre-registration is required before enrollment can be finalized. An email address is required to complete the pre-registration form.
