The SECU Scholarship
Bridge to Career Program Scholarship
Western Piedmont Community College is offering students in our Workforce Continuing Education programs scholarships through the State Employees Credit Union (SECU) Foundation. The SECU Bridge to Career Program is designed to help remove financial barriers for students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials.
Scholarship Details
Students are eligible to be awarded up to (2) $500 scholarships for courses within their credential in the program year (July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027)
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a US citizen and a NC resident.
- Be enrolled in a short-term training program that leads to a state-regulated or industry recognized credential that is offered through Western Piedmonts’ Continuing Education division.
- Not be a director, employee, or family member of an employee of SECU or the SECU foundation.
- Be one of the following:
- Unemployed or underemployed adult
- A member of the NC National Guard
- Military Veteran or spouse of a Veteran
- Underserved population in a specific workforce or area
How to Apply
- Talk with your instructor or WPCC Workforce Development & Continuing Education to confirm that your class(es) will qualify for SECU Bridge to Career Program Scholarship.
- Download, fill out, print, and sign the SECU Scholarship Application (PDF file – open with the free Adobe Reader). If you have problems accessing and completing this form, please e-mail webmaster@wpcc.edu for help.
- Submit application online return your completed application to WPCC Workforce & Continuing Education located at 2128 S Sterling St., Morganton, NC 28655
