Do I Qualify for Accommodations?
Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, a person with a disability is anyone with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, and learning.
Possible Types of Disabilities:
- Visual Impairment
- Deaf/Hearing Impairment
- Mobility Impairment
- Learning Disability
- Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
- Developmental Disorders
- Certain Medical Conditions
- Mental Health Disabilities
Students must contact the Office of Accessibility Services and submit sufficient Diagnostic Documentation to determine eligibility. Eligibility in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 plan in high school is an indicator that a student may be eligible; however, the IEP or 504 plan does not automatically qualify a student for services at the post-secondary level.
