Take these steps to get ready for registration that is now underway:
- Log in to Pioneer Pass and see what courses you need to complete your degree (under Academic Planning > Program Evaluation).
- Visit the Course Listings for Summer page to see the course offerings and plan what you want to take.

UNIVERSITY STUDENTS
Interested in taking a few classes over the summer to transfer back to your 4-year institution? Let us help! Follow our step by step guide on how to apply and register as a visiting student.
- Step 1: Apply to WPCC as an Undecided/Visiting Student
- Complete an application, choose Undecided/Visiting Student as your major for Summer 2020.
- Be sure to complete the NC Residency Determination Service (RDS)
- Check your email for confirmation of your application.
- Your acceptance letter will be mailed with steps to access your student accounts and helpful information at Pioneer Pass.
- Step 2: Get Your Transcripts
- An official transcript is required if your selected course has a prerequisite.
- Visit our catalog to verify prerequisites.

- Step 3: Register

Western Piedmont Community is a great place to study and learn this summer! Choose from a great schedule of classes including courses that will transfer to colleges and universities, prepare you for employment, or complete requirements for WPCC programs.
If you’re new to WPCC, please see below for the four-step enrollment process, which you should work to complete before you can register for classes. Get in touch with us using our contact section at the bottom of the page to talk with our admissions staff. We’re ready to help you!
Summer enrollment is May 1-May 14 with classes beginning May 26. We look forward to seeing you at WPCC this summer!

Take Classes This Summer. Get Year Round Pell.
If you are a current WPCC student who received a Pell Grant during the current school year (2019-2020), you may be eligible to to receive a full Pell award for the summer. This allows you to continue taking classes and finish your degree faster.
You should consult with your advisor and plan a course schedule that is manageable during the shorter session and contact the WPCC Financial Aid Office for more details.

There are four easy steps to enroll for classes this summer at WPCC.
1. Enroll
- Complete an Application for Admission
- Establish your residency status: North Carolina Residency Determination Service. Use your valid Residency Certification Number (RCN) to apply.
- Apply online. For assistance e-mail applications@wpcc.edu.
- Choose program of study.
- Non-degree seeking students, please select Undecided/Visiting Student (T90990).
- Receive Your Acceptance E-mail
You will receive an e-mail once your application has been processed. It will include your student ID number and WPCC student access ID. - Pay full tuition and fees through Pioneer Pass
2. Placement Tests & Transcripts
- Take the Placement Test
- At this time, we are not administering the Placement Test. Learn more about our placement testing and exemptions.
- Contact the Director of Career & Testing Services with questions regarding placement and testing: Annette Joy (e-mail: ajoy@wpcc.edu)
- Request Your Official High School, GED/AHS Center, and/or College Transcripts
- Send transcripts to:

Email: officialtranscripts@wpcc.edu.
- If you received your Adult High School Diploma from WPCC, please download, fill out and submit a Transcript Request Form (PDF file open with the free Adobe Reader software) and have the transcript sent to the Admissions Office.
- Request your official high school equivalency transcript by going to the GED Testing Service website and selecting the state where you tested. If you have the option to submit the transcript electronically, have it e-mailed to officialtranscripts@wpcc.edu.
3. Pay for College
- Contact Financial Aid at (828) 448-6046 or visit the Financial Aid web page for information regarding assistance.
- A convenient monthly Tuition Payment Plan is also available.
- Pay full tuition and fees through Pioneer Pass.
4. Register
- Contact Your Advisor, Your advisor’s contact information can be found in your Academic Profile in Pioneer Pass.
- Register for Your Classes using Pioneer Pass.
- Find important registration dates on the Academic Calendar. Use the Semester Guide and Class Schedule links as resources for planning each upcoming semester
