Paramedic to RN Bridge Program
The Paramedic to Associate Degree Nursing entry option is designed to allow currently certified paramedics who have completed the A. A. S. Degree in Emergency Medical Science to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing.
After the student has successfully completed NUR 215 the Registrar’s Office awards non-course credit for NUR 111, NUR 112, & NUR 113. Upon successful completion of the bridge course, students will have full acceptance into the second-year ADN program. Space is limited and admission is competitive. Applications and submission of all requirements should be completed by December 31st for Spring admission.
Students must meet all other requirements of the Associate Degree Nursing A.A.S.
Apply for Admission
Admission is selective and all requirements (1-8) must be completed and submitted by May 31st of the same year the student intends a Fall entrance. Nursing Director will email the notification of acceptance and letters of intent in March, April, and May (as students qualify). WPCC Nursing does not have a “waiting list”. July 19th is the final date letters of intent will be accepted by email

- High School Transcripts or Equivalent
- College transcripts from all colleges attended.
- Required GPA of 2.5 or above on all college coursework
Paramedic to ADN Program Requirements
- Paramedic to ADN Application.
- Valid unrestricted North Carolina Paramedic or National Registry Paramedic Certification for a minimum of 2 years prior to admission.
- Successful Placement test scores or ability to take ENG 111 and MAT 143 or higher without a co-requisite.
- ATI TEAS exam score of proficient (≥ 63) within the last 3 years.
- AHA BLS Provider CPR certification OR American Red Cross Basic Life Support
- General education pre-requisite courses. ENG 111, BIO 168, BIO 169, PSY 150, PSY 241 and ACA 115 or ACA 122 (To be completed before entering the second-year of the ADN Nursing program)
- Successful completion of NUR 215 Paramedic to RN Bridge concepts with a grade of C or higher.
- Access to High-Speed Internet and a laptop computer for coursework.
Paramedic to ADN Applicants are subject to all WPCC Nursing program rules and requirements with the exception of certification as Nurse Aid 1 or higher by NC DHSR as NREMT-P or NC Paramedic supersedes this requirement.
