Pottery 101
Do you like mud? Do you like getting dirty? Do you like making things yourself? Have you always been curious about the whole “pottery” thing? Then this is the class for you!

SCHEDULE
New Course! Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning August 20, 2024 running through December 12, 2024.
Effective Training
This is a BEGINNER pottery class, but is appropriate for ALL LEVELS of folks curious about clay. It will be for newbies who have never touched clay, but also relevant for those who have taken one or two pottery classes and want to continue to grow their skills and practice. A demo-by-demo instructional schedule will build skills starting with handbuilding all the way through basic wheel techniques. All questions are welcome and the overall goal is to HAVE FUN playing with clay!
Learn New Skills
WPCC will provide the big equipment (wheels, tables, slab roller, kilns) as well as clay and glaze. A shared assortment of basic tools (sponges, wooden knives, ribs, water bucket, needle tool, etc.) will also be available. Be prepared to get dirty at every class! Bring your own throwing towel, apron/smock, close-toed shoes, and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Basic pottery tools may also be purchased at the WPCC bookstore, at any craft store, or on Amazon, and a full list of suggested tools will be provided on the first day of class.
