Intro to Industrial Sewing

This partnership between WPCC and the Carolina Textile District prepares trainees for a career in the sewn trades. This fun course is hands-on and project-based. No prior sewing experience needed. Learn how to use an industrial sewing machine in 2.5 weeks!

The Industrial Sewing Program is a boot camp style class, lasting 13 days. Participants of all skill levels are welcome; no previous experience is needed. Participants will learn how to operate four industrial sewing machines; the single needle, coverstitch, walking foot, and serger. Throughout the course, the participant will work on projects to hone their skills, making zipper pouches, tote bags, hoodies, and much more! The class also includes a tour of a local manufacturing facility. All materials are included in the cost of the course. *Closed-toed shoes are required; no crocs, sandals with socks, or slippers are allowed.
