Health Sciences

Associate in Applied Science in Health Sciences

This program prepares students for success in healthcare by providing a strong foundation in courses essential for health practice while offering opportunities to earn stackable credentials in relevant healthcare roles such as phlebotomy and nurse aide along the way. This allows students to pursue entry-level healthcare support roles while continuing their education.

Graduates will demonstrate professional standards, apply both discipline-specific and general education skills, and possess the academic preparation needed for career growth or further study in advanced health science programs.

Transfer Your Degree!

Students who complete the degree are eligible to apply to Appalachian State University’s online bachelor’s in health science program. ASU’s Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program is designed for individuals who have earned an Associate in Applied Science degree from a North Carolina community college. Many WPCC healthcare program graduates have benefited by being able to transfer into ASU’s program.
