The library has returned to the newly renovated space upstairs in the Phifer Learning Resources Center!!!

Library Hours:  Monday – Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Academic Success Center/Library and Student Services are collaborating to offer a series of student success workshops.  The workshops are FREE to students and no pre-registration is required.  All of the workshops for February will be presented in the training room located in the Academic Success/Library, room 111.  The workshops schedule for February is listed below:

12:00-12:50 p.m.  Wednesday, February 1  How Not to Flunk a Class  Heide Putt, presenter  LRC-111

This workshop will focus on things you can do to prepare yourself to be successful in classes.  Examples include understanding your syllabus, communicating with your instructor, and many other topics!

12:30-1:20 p.m.  Thursday, February 2  Making the Most of WPCC  Vicki Holder, presenter  LRC-111

Join Career Services staff and find out more about programs and services that are available for all WPCC students including resume assistance, mock interviews, the college job board, career counseling and Work Based Learning.  Let us show you how to make the most of your college experience and forge a path to the career you’ve been hoping for.

Each DMA module goes by quickly, so it is important to be equipped with strategies for success.  There is no time to waste during a four-week module, so come and join us for a discussion of strategies that work!

Find out how to juggle the everyday demands of college, work, family and all those unpredictable situations that are a part of life.  We’ll explore how to develop resilience and flexibility that enable us to be successful in every area of our lives.

What techniques do you use to study?  Does your mind go “blank” when your instructor hands you a test?  Do you feel overwhelmed with midterms approaching?  This workshop will focus on test-taking strategies for a variety of test formats.

Ever feel like you cannot manage one more thing?  This workshop will teach you how to manage stressful situations (and people!) so you can relax and live life!  Learn basic relaxation techniques, challenge your thinking, and make healthier choices.
