WPCC Hosts Golden Hour Film Festival and Teen Film Camp Screening
Western Piedmont Community College will host The Golden Hour Film Festival and the Teen Film Camp Screening on August 12th, 2023.

Teen Film Camp students and instructors.
WPCC’s Teen Film Camp, which began June 20th, was a summer opportunity for students ages 12 – 18 to explore filmmaking, story creation, camera use, sound production, and video editing, all while working with industry professionals. Students also received hands-on experience with state-of-the-art facilities, use of professional cameras, sound recording gear, editing stations and a production studio. This is the second year the camp has been offered.
“Being able to help guide young filmmakers is such an honor and delight! The creativity and enthusiasm they bring to the camp is remarkable. We can’t wait to see where their talents will take them in life and look forward to bringing in more eager campers in the future. We hope friends, family, and the community will come out to help celebrate this big moment with them.” Instructor Julie Church said.
Julie also added that the students are incredibly excited to have their film “Dead or Alive” premiere at the 3rd Annual Golden Hour Film Festival alongside other short films.
Seeking to redefine the traditional film festival paradigm, the Golden Hour Film Festival recognizes the effort of every participant through their awards and categories. A variety of diverse genres will be shown for film lovers.
The Golden Hour Film Festival is a community and a testament to resilience and ingenuity and fosters talent while igniting creativity.
The Golden Hour Film Festival is free to the community and will take place on WPCC’s main campus in the Leviton Auditorium beginning at 2:00 pm.
WPCC is located at 1001 Burkemont Avenue, Morganton, NC.
