Christine Sprinkle Named Outstanding Staff Award Winner

Morganton, NC—Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) named Christine Sprinkle (center) as recipient of the 2014 Outstanding Staff Award following nomination for the 23nd annual award by her co-workers. WPCC President Dr. Michael S. Helmick (left) and Western Piedmont Foundation Past President Bill Lennon (right) presented Ms. Sprinkle with the award at the College’s convocation breakfast in August.

Each year, WPCC recognizes an outstanding staff member selected for his/her superior work history, strong commitment to the College’s open-door philosophy, and dedication to assisting students, faculty, and staff. Recipients receive a plaque and $1,000 monetary award, in addition to the admiration and respect of their colleagues. The award is sponsored by Western Piedmont Foundation and funded from proceeds of the foundation’s annual golf classic.

Ms. Sprinkle, Western Piedmont’s Division Assistant for Humanities and Social Sciences, has been an employee with the College for more than seven years.   She holds an Associate degree in Business Administration from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb University.

Staff and faculty recognized Ms. Sprinkle for her extraordinary support efforts and outstanding personal attributes. One nominator remarked that “Through Christine’s dedication to doing her job in an outstanding manner, she helps all of us do ours better. With her unique combination of efficiency and charm, she helps make our lives better as well.”
