Procedure

02.01.020.b Administrative Standing Committees

The President’s Cabinet and the Innovation Team both serve as decision making bodies.  These two teams have direct communication with the following standing committees for recommendations to assure the college is operating effectively and efficiently. Committees are essential to an effective organization because they provide faculty and staff with an opportunity to share ideas and work directly toward the accomplishment of the College’s Mission.

  • Campus Facilities, Grounds, and Safety
  • Curriculum
  • Faculty Staff Council
  • Institutional Assessment
  • Personnel
  • Social and Wellness
  • Student Government Association (SGA)

These are standing committees and as such are established on the following guidelines.

  • Each committee is recognized by the President.
  • The committee meets regularly and is responsible for recording meeting minutes (including attendance) and sending minutes to minutes@wpcc.edu so that they can be maintained on a college shared drive.
  • The committees will normally operate on an academic year cycle from August to June.

In addition to the standing committees, other established committees and ad-hoc committees meet as needed to help improve college functionality.  All committee chairs maintain the responsibility to refer recommendations to the appropriate vice president or the president.  Employees seeking information about committees should contact the appropriate vice president/administrator.

Any employee may attend a committee meeting. Employees may contact the committee chair or the appropriate individual to obtain meeting dates/times and to provide notice of their plan to attend.
