Policy
02.03.040 Naming of College Assets
The College and the Foundation continually seek private funds to enhance the College’s ability to meet the higher education needs of the community. To that end, the College should provide appropriate recognition to donors. Naming recognition may take many forms; however, this policy is intended to establish guidelines when naming programs, buildings, facilities and other campus areas for donors or for individual recognition.
The naming of these assets is the province of the Trustees of Western Piedmont Community College. Criteria for the naming of college assets is outlined in the college procedure manual and these guidelines will be followed when consideration is given to naming, renaming, or removing a name on college assets.
It is the policy of the Board of Trustees that naming opportunities shall be consistent with level of giving or with the magnitude of the contribution to the College. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to rescind its decisions regarding naming facilities and other entities or to rename these entities based on justifiable reasons. The College reserves the right to decide on the signage or other physical display which may accompany the named recognition.
