04.01.120 Program Advisory Committees
The purpose of the College’s Program Advisory Committees is to inform the faculty who lead academic programs on needs that practitioners observe in the field. Members advise the College on the personnel needs of business and industry; specific skills and levels of skills acceptable to employers; trends in occupational and professional fields; the types of equipment, materials, and processes currently in the field; and the success of the College graduates. Advisory Committee members may recruit students; assist in locating and selecting instructors; assist in locating equipment, materials, and supplies; and assist in finding full or part-time jobs for students.
Program Advisory Committees, as the name implies, are advisory only. Appointed by the President, upon recommendation of the Vice President for Academic Affairs & Workforce Development, members have no policy-making authority. The Advisory Committees are not designed to be decision-making bodies regarding College operations.
