Once the instructor completes and submits his/her self-evaluation, the supervisor will be automatically notified with an Etrieve Flow Notification via email and will be directed to take action by clicking on the hyperlink provided in the email. The supervisor will access the self-evaluation and will complete the evaluation by grading the same criteria. Once completed, the supervisor will return the evaluation back to the instructor and will setup a time to meet to discuss the evaluation and future goals. After the evaluation and meeting are completed and approved by the instructor and supervisor, the electronic form will be moved through the workflow process for additional approvals and upon completing the process, the HR department will move the form to file in the instructor’s file located in the Human Resources section of the Etrieve Content software. Student Evaluations
Every new instructor will be evaluated each semester during the first year of hire and then subsequently on an annual basis with at least one class during the designated semester. The instructor and immediate supervisor will consult and agree upon one or more classes in which the Student Evaluation forms will be distributed. Evaluations will be administered to the selected class(s) through the College’s evaluation system. The instructor will be absent from the class during the total evaluation process.
It shall be the responsibility of the instructor’s immediate supervisor to see that the results of the evaluations are tabulated and reviewed with the instructor. The evaluation will be discussed with the appropriate Division Dean and Vice President for Academic & Student Success. The original student evaluations will be returned to the instructor with a summary evaluation maintained at the division level. Division Deans, Department Heads and Coordinators are encouraged to review evaluations and compare them across courses, across semesters, and among instructors teaching the same courses. Confidentiality is to be respected. Student Evaluations are always to be used in conjunction with other evaluation instruments.
