Burke Co. Fire College Cost: $20 per student
(Includes T-shirt; so, please indicate your T-shirt size on your registration)

Fee Exemption:

Students who are Paid or Volunteer responders from local or state, federal, tribal, fire, law, EMS, rescue, or military stationed in NC are exempt from paying the fees associated with the course (This does not apply to the $20 Fire College Cost). Those responders residing outside of NC but work or volunteer for an agency in NC are also fee exempt.
Tribal responders. Military responders who are stationed in NC and those who are on an emergency response plan (ERP) with NC Emergency Management are also fee exempt but will need to provide a letter from the county EM of their affiliation with NCEM.

Those students not meeting the fee exemption policy with a NC Fire/Rescue/EMS/LE or a member of a local NC Emergency Management Response Plan must pay the following rates:

  • Class hours 1-24 $70.00
  • Class hours 25 – 50 $125.00
  • Class hours 50 or more $180.00

 

Minimum Age Requirement:
NC Community College System Policy on 15-year olds:

  • The minimum age for participation in the Burke Co. Regional Fire College is 15 years of age
  • Can attend certification or non-certification courses
  • Are NOT permitted to participate in any live fire training, water rescue; or driver operator courses

Live Fire Training Students: Please ensure your Live Fire Validation Form 200.14A has been signed by your Fire Chief or Training Officer and mail it with your registration, or bring it with you to class. Students not submitting their validation forms will not be permitted to participate and will be moved into their alternate choice.
