Each year, WPCC recognizes an outstanding staff member selected for their superior work history, a strong commitment to the college’s open-door philosophy, and dedication to assisting students, faculty, and staff. This award is sponsored by the Western Piedmont Foundation.
Dr. Tou Vang received the 2024 Outstanding Staff Member Award. Dr. Vang is the Dean of Student Services and reflects a singular focus on removing barriers to post-secondary education for all. He takes every opportunity for professional development, including completing the North Carolina Community College Leadership program in 2023.
Dr. Vang is considered by many to exemplify what it means to be an outstanding staff member through passionate advocacy for students and a commitment to be a humble servant-leader to team members and colleagues.
