WPCC Faculty Member in Regional Commercial

Deborah Lonon, coordinator of the associate in fine arts (AFA) drama program at Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC) was recently chosen for a role in a regional Harris Teeter commercial airing on television.

The 30 second video promotes organic and natural foods available at the North Carolina-based chain grocery store and can be viewed in the video section of the company’s website (www.harristeeter.com).

Lonon received her bachelor of arts degree from Adrian College in Michigan and a master of arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has also studied at the International Institute for Readers Theatre in London, England.  Lonon teaches acting, play production and numerous specialized theatre courses offered at Western Piedmont Community College.

The College’s AFA programs in art and drama prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions.  The Drama degree introduces students to the art, craft, and business of theatre through a study of dramatic literature, stage history, and elements of play production.
