Western Piedmont Foundation Scholarships Open in February
People in the Burke County community looking to further their education have a great opportunity coming up.
The Western Piedmont Foundation has announced that the scholarship application period for the 2025-26 academic year at Western Piedmont Community College opens in February and will run through July 15.
The foundation offers more than 100 scholarships annually for a wide variety of academic programs to help people pay for their college education. Finding out if you’re eligible is a simple four-step process:
1. Apply to become a student at WPCC by clicking on the “Apply Now” link under the “Get Started” tab on the home page at wpcc.edu.
2. Once you submit your application and receive your acceptance letter, set up your WPCC student accounts (Pioneer Pass and WPCC email). You will receive instructions on how to do this.
3. Once your WPCC accounts are set up, complete a 2025-26 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) application at studentaid.gov. While completing the application, indicate on the form that you would like it sent to WPCC, and they will do that for you.
4. Once you complete your FAFSA, submit an application to WPCC to find out if you are eligible for scholarships. Visit wpcc.edu/financial-aid/scholarships, click on the “WPCC Foundation Online Scholarship Application,” and sign in with your WPCC email address and password.
Once you have submitted the scholarship application to the financial aid department and they receive your FAFSA, they will notify you if you are eligible for any scholarships. A WPCC application must be submitted in order to be considered for WPCC scholarships.
