WPCC STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION CANDIDATE FILING FORMS

All Candidates for the SGA Executive Board must meet the following criteria:

1. All candidates must be currently enrolled and continue enrollment for a minimum of nine (9) credit hours for each semester of the academic year 2025-2026 at Western Piedmont Community College (WPCC).
2. All officers must successfully complete at least nine (9) credit hours per semester and maintain a 2.75 grade point average while in office.
3. Any student placed on probation at WPCC for Student Code of Conduct violations or Academic Probation is not eligible to hold an Executive Board position.
4. All candidates must be prepared to meet the contract obligations of the Duties of the Student Government Association if elected to office.
5. No officer may hold a faculty, administrative, or full-time position with the College. No officer may hold an executive office position with any club/organization on campus while in office.
6. All officers must satisfy the duties of their office as stated in the SGA Constitution.
7. All candidates must submit their completed application and have a recommendation by the date below.
8. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the SGA Advisor and Director of Outreach and Recruitment and eligible candidates notified.

SIGNATURE: If elected to the Executive Council of the WPCC Student Government Association, I agree to abide by and uphold the WPCC SGA Constitution and By-Laws. I agree to participate, create, and encourage student participation in the following events: Monthly Senate Meetings, Fall Festival and Spring Fling, Constitution Day Celebration, Disability Awareness Month Events, WPCC DiversAbility, N4CSGA Division and Conference Meetings (Fall and Spring), Graduation Celebration Activities, other special events, initiatives and activities deemed necessary by my SGA Advisor, Student Services and Student Development throughout the year. I will represent Western Piedmont Community College well and further develop my leadership skills. I will check with the SGA Advisor weekly and sign up for other tours/activities as available. By accepting a position on the SGA Executive Board, I agree that I will commit to no less than two (2) hours of time a week to assist with the planning and preparation of student & club events and will attend every campus event sponsored by the SGA. If unable to attend, I will work with the SGA Advisor prior to the event to make sure that there is coverage and event is prepared. I have read all the rules and regulations and agree to abide by them in every way. I understand that if I fail to adequately fulfill all of the duties and requirements of the office to which I am elected, I may be removed from office by signed agreement of the SGA Advisor, the Dean of Student Services, and the Vice President for Student Success & Support Services. I understand if removed from office, I forfeit all incentives and positions that may be inherent with the office.
