The Colleges affirms the State of North Carolina\u2019s commitment to encourage participation of historically underutilized businesses in the College\u2019s purchase of goods and services.\u00a0 The College prohibits discrimination against any person or business on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, disability, genetic information, age, political affiliation or veterans\u2019 status.<\/p>\n
Hub vendors are companies that have the following groups as a principal or majority
owner, or one who owns a majority of stock\/shares:
\u2022 American Indian,
\u2022 female,
\u2022 disabled\/handicapped,
\u2022 African American,
\u2022 Hispanic\/Latino,
\u2022 Asian American.<\/p>\n
It is the policy of the college to encourage and promote equal opportunities for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) in order to foster more diverse participation in all aspects of procurement and contracting opportunities. The college is committed to procuring at least 10 percent of goods and services from HUB vendors. All requisitioners should make a \u201cgood faith effort\u201d toward securing a HUB vendor for purchases.<\/p>\n
