  1. Death of a Student <\/strong>\n
      \n
    • If a student, having paid the required tuition and fees for a course section, dies prior to completing that course section, all tuition and fees for that course section will be refunded to the estate of the deceased upon the College becoming aware of the student\u2019s death. The College shall process the refund within one year of the death or prior to the closing of the estate, whichever occurs first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
    • \u00a0<\/strong>Military Refund <\/strong>\n
        \n
      • Upon request of the student, the College shall:\n
          \n
        • Grant a full refund of tuition and fees to military reserve and National Guard personnel called to active duty or active-duty personnel who have received temporary or permanent reassignments as a result of military operations that make it impossible for them to complete their course requirements; and<\/li>\n
        • Buy back textbooks through the Colleges’ bookstore operations to the extent allowable under the College\u2019s buy back procedures.<\/li>\n
        • The College shall use distance learning technologies and other educational methodologies, to the extent possible as determined by the College, to help active-duty military students, under the guidance of faculty and administrative staff, complete their course requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
        • Self-Supporting Tuition and Fees<\/strong>\n
            \n
          • Refunds to students enrolling in self-supporting curriculum courses and self-supporting continuing education courses will be regulated in the same manner as stated in Procedure 06.01.040.b. and 06.01.040.c.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Other Fees<\/strong>\n
              \n
            • After a course or academic term begins, other fees such as, but not limited to, student activity fee, technology fee, CAPS, specific fees, and others are not refundable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • Refund Limitations<\/strong>\n
                \n
              • \u00a0<\/strong>No checks shall be written to a student if the balance of the student\u2019s refund is less than $1.00. Any balance $1.00 or less shall be transferred to the Western Piedmont Community College General Scholarship Fund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
