MLT Program Didactic Faculty:

Ms. Beverly Berry: Program Coordinator/Instructor

Beverly Berry is an ASCP certified Medical Technologist with 25+ years of previous experience in the clinical laboratory field working as Hematology/Coagulation Section Head, Clinical Student Coordinator, and Weekend Supervisor. Ms. Berry brings experience to the WPCC MLT Program in all major departments of the clinical laboratory which includes: microbiology, blood bank, hematology, urinalysis, chemistry, and phlebotomy.

Ms. Berry has been teaching at WPCC since 2004. She currently teaches the following courses in the WPCC MLT Program: MLT 110 Introduction to MLT, MLT 120 Hematology/Hemostasis, MLT 130 Clinical Chemistry, MLT 255, 265, 275, and 288 MLT Clinical Practicum, and MLT 216 Professional Issues.

Ms. Berry holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education, Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, and an Associate in Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology. She is an alumni of the WPCC MLT Program.

Ms. April James, Adjunct Instructor:

April James is an ASCP certified Medical Laboratory Scientist with 8.5 years of experience in the clinical laboratory field working in microbiology, urinalysis, hematology, phlebotomy, and manual chemistry.

Ms. James has been teaching at WPCC since 2015. She currently teaches courses MLT 140 Introduction to Microbiology and MLT 111 Urinalysis and Body Fluids.

Ms. James holds a bachelor of science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and an Associate in Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. She is completing a master’s degree in health education and promotion. She is an alumni of the WPCC MLT Program.

Ms. Elizabeth Patton, Adjunct Instructor:

Elizabeth Patton is an ASCP certified Medical Laboratory Technician with 16 years of experience in the clinical laboratory field working in microbiology/molecular, blood bank, hematology, serology, urinalysis, chemistry, and phlebotomy.

Ms. Patton has been teaching at WPCC since 2016. She currently teaches courses MLT 110 Introduction to MLT, MLT 240 Special Microbiology, and MLT 125 Immunohematology. She is an alumni of the WPCC MLT Program.
