Paramount Pioneer – Kristina Rasmussen
Hi Pioneers and welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year! This is a new segment called Paramount Pioneers, where we will be highlighting different faculty, staff, and students right here on campus! If you have any suggestions or want to be featured make sure to contact us by filling out the information on the homepage or contacting Maria Juan at mjuan@wpcc.eduÂ
First up, meet your bookstore manager Kristina Rasmussen!
We asked Kristina a few questions about WPCC and being a part of the bookstore.
Q: What do you like the most about the bookstore?
A: I like being a point of entry at the college and meeting a lot of new students. I really like ordering the books, the clothing, the supplies, and getting to pick out the designs for the tshirts.
Q: How do you help students that come into the bookstore?
A: In a few different ways, we are here to provide information to students. I want them to know the accurate information for their courses and what the requirements are. We are also here to give them directions, additional help with access codes, and work as a point of contact if there are troubleshooting issues.
Q: What is your favorite event on campus/see on campus?
A: I really like the fall festival and spring fling that is held on the grassy commons. It is an opportunity to meet new faces on campus and run into students.
Q: What advice would you give students?
A: It is never a bad idea to wait until the first day of classes to see what materials they will exactly need, and to check in with their instructors. It is always a good idea to bring a copy of their schedule when they come to purchase their books so we can pull in the accurate information.
Q: Finally, any words of encouragement?
A: It is never too late to start your educational journey. Just because you feel like you missed your chance, you have not at WPCC. There is no age limit on dreams and accomplishments.
If you are ever in the bookstore, which is located in Hildebrand Hall room 33, make sure to say hi to Kristina or ask her any questions that you may have!
