Western Piedmont Community College offers occupational training and certification classes from time to time during the year. All classes will be offered at the Foothills Higher Education Center, 2128 S Sterling Street in Morganton, NC.

Independent Auto Dealer Licensing and Renewal

Western Piedmont Community College offers the Auto Dealers Initial Licensing Course and the Independent Auto Dealers License Renewal Course.

Auto Dealers Initial Licensing Course

The Auto Dealers Initial Licensing Course meets the twelve-hour requirement by the NC Division of Motor Vehicles.  This course provides information on licensing requirements, state and federal laws, frequently-used forms, dealer license plates, and vehicle safety inspections.

Auto Dealer License Renewal Course

The Auto Dealer License Renewal Course meets the six-hour continuing education requirement for your license renewal as ordered for Independent Auto Dealers by House Bill 432. This course provides a brief overview of the NC Motor Vehicle Dealers and Manufacturers Regulations Manual and includes a study of dealer laws, regulations, DMV regulations, federal laws and rules, and proper record-keeping.

Materials: Students will need to purchase and read through the notary public handbook prior to class, the handbook is available for purchase in the WPCC bookstore at ($26) or available online @North Carolina Notary Public Manual (2026) | UNC School of Government. You should also have a current valid acceptable ID and please note no laptops are allowed.
Notary classes are essential for anyone interested in becoming a Notary Public. They provide necessary knowledge and skills to perform notarial acts and adhere to state regulations. This class covers a range of topics, including notary duties, responsibilities, laws, regulations, proper procedures, and more. After completing the class, you will need to obtain your notary commission from your state, which involves submitting an application, paying required fees, and providing proof of completions
