Phlebotomy
PLEASE NOTE

WPCC Phlebotomy prepares students for careers in healthcare and laboratory settings, focusing on drawing and processing blood. Students will learn proper techniques for performing venipuncture and skin puncture and will practice both simulated and real sticking techniques on one another during class and lab sessions.
Prerequisites:
- Students must be 18 prior to the class start date.
- Students must have a High School diploma or GED.
- Students will be required to pass a background check and drug screening prior to placement in their clinical site.
- Students will provide documentation of required immunizations prior to clinical placement.
- Students will need a laptop or tablet to utilize during class meetings.
Registration:
Registration fee includes the following:
Registration: $305
Liability insurance: $15
CPR card: $5
Total cost due at registration: $325
Additional Costs:
- Textbook: Phlebotomy Handbook: Blood Specimen Collection from Basic to Advanced 10th edition $ 131.75 plus tax available in the WPCC Book Cellar (ISBN: 9780134709321) Available at the WPCC bookstore.
- Scrubs: Student should purchase 2 sets of charcoal grey scrubs.
- Background check: Student will purchase a background check from CastleBranch prior to clinical placement.
- Any required immunizations and drug screen costs
