Western Piedmont Community College is offering a pen turning class. Individuals will turn a pen on a lathe as they learn basic lathe safety. They will learn about materials such as turning tools. In addition, individuals will learn how to properly sand and finish their pen. This class is for beginners or experienced woodworkers. Individuals must wear safety glasses and closed-toed shoes. Beginners will learn how to create pages, a logo, set up a store for transactions, and link their web page to social media sites. In addition, they will learn how to import photos and videos. This two-week course will provide you the creative control to create and maintain your website using WIX. Teachers can receive teacher renewal credits for this class. Individuals will need access to the Internet and computer for this class. Class Dates: 4/2 and 4/9 Time: 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Location: Online - An instructor will teach the class virtually using BlackBoard Collaborate. It will be a similar experience to the Face-to-Face classes. The instructor will send directions to log into BlackBoard Collaborate.
