Coordinates registration process.

Tuition Refunds - assists students in obtaining a partial tuition refund for courses dropped before the ten percent date of each semester.
Transfer Credit - evaluates transcripts from other colleges and universities to give students credit for equivalent courses at WPCC.
Transcripts - provide official transcripts of courses taken at WPCC. These must be requested in writing by the student.
Applying for VA Benefits - assists students in initiating their educational benefits.
Certification - certifies student enrollment each semester to the Veteran's Administration.

Financial Aid Applications - to be eligible for any WPCC Financial Aid, students must complete and submit a Free Application for Financial Student Aid to the Federal Processor. Applications are available through the Financial Aid Office and online at www.fafsa.ed.gov 
Assistance in completing the application process is available from WPCC's financial aid staff. Appointments are recommended. Most Financial Aid Awards are based on demonstrated financial need. Type included: Grants, Loans, Work-Study Programs, Scholarships.

Student Activities / Recruiter Coordinator - Monica Shuford

Student Government Association - participation in the S.G.A. is open to all students, with officers elected by the student body and senators appointed by clubs.
Programs/Special Events - the S.G.A. plans and implements a series of programs and activities each year designed to meet the varied needs of WPCC students.
WPCC Ambassadors - a group of student leaders selected yearly to represent WPCC at campus and community functions. Participants are awarded a service scholarship.

Job Listings - WPCC's Job Placement Service maintains a list of jobs currently available, within the community, as well as information on the listed positions.
Job Search Skills - the Office assists students in developing job search skills, such as resume and researching employers.
Credit for Experience - allows students to earn academic credit for their work experiences.
Participation - open to students enrolled in most curriculum programs. See your Academic Advisor or contact Ron Hipps.

  • Call 438-6052 or 438-6046 to schedule an appointment for the next available test date.
  • Seating is limited, so please call at your earliest opportunity to schedule your appointment.
  • Arrive in Student Services (Hildebrand Hall) at least 30 minutes before test time.
  • Allow 2-3 hours to complete the testing process.
  • Application must be filled out and submitted in advance of test date.
  • Photo ID must be presented.

Educational Talent Search / Burke Collegiate Scholars - Director - Maureen "Mo" Schwind

Academic Outreach Program - working cooperatively with the Burke County public schools to provide identified eligible students in grades 6-12 with additional academic and career counseling that fosters pursuit of a college education upon completion of high school. All services are provided Free through this federally funded program.

Sponsored by the Western Piedmont Foundation, Inc. students nearing the end of their fifth grade are chosen based upon academic merit, financial need and first-generation college eligibilty. Upon successful completion of high school, these

Students are guaranteed a two-year education at WPCC.
