03.03.080.a Internal Transfers/Reassignments

 

 

 

 

When an employee is promoted or reassigned to a position with a higher salary grade and the employee’s current monthly salary falls within the range of the higher class, the College may maintain the salary or increase the salary to any number in the higher range in accordance with the College’s customary practice in assigning salary to employees.  When an employee is demoted or reassigned to a position with a lower salary grade and the employee’s current monthly salary falls within the range of the new position’s salary range, the College may maintain the salary or decrease the salary to a number within the lower range in accordance with the College’s customary practice in assigning salary to employees..  If however, the employee’s present monthly salary is above the maximum of the range for the lower class, the salary will be reduced at least to the maximum of the lower range.  Exceptions will be made only by the President.
