Procedure03.01.060.a Faculty Credentials
When determining acceptable qualifications of its faculty, the College gives primary consideration to the highest earned degree in the discipline in accordance with the guidelines listed below. The College also considers competence, effectiveness, and capacity including, as appropriate: undergraduate and graduate degrees, related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, honors and awards, continuous documented excellence in teaching, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that contribute to effective teaching and student learning outcomes as justification when minimum academic requirements are not met. In all cases, the College is responsible for documenting and justifying the qualifications of its faculty. Credentials will be evaluated by the appropriate department head in consultation with the division dean and final approval by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
