Morganton, NC – Western Piedmont Community College invites area adults to register for some summer adventure through two continuing education sessions that are sure to satisfy the history buff! Throughout July and August, participants can learn about the civil war in the classroom and through field trips to several battlefields.
The public is invited to attend the session “Gettysburg to Sharpsburg – Civil War Tour I” from July 9 through July 23. The second session, “Fredericksburg Four - Civil War Tour II” will be offered from July 30 through Aug. 13. Randall Garrison will lead students in both the classroom meetings and field trips. Classes for both sessions meet from 6 to 8 p.m. at the College’s Foothills Higher Education Center at 2128 Sterling Street, Morganton. Each of the two month-long sessions costs $161.25 with additional travel expenses for lodging, food and personal expenses.
Class times are part of the required curriculum. Each of the sessions is limited to 14. Teachers may receive 5.0 renewal credits for each of the two sessions.
