Morganton, NC – Western Piedmont Community College’s Continuing Education division will offer “Introduction to Home Canning” at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, located at 140 St. Mary’s Church Road in Morganton. This class, which will outfit attendees with the skills to create nutritious, safe and money-saving canned foods from local fruits and vegetables, will cover hot-water-bath and pressure canning. Attendees will prepare take-home jars of jam and jars of vegetables as well as receive the tools needed to begin canning at home. Class dates and times are Thursday and Friday, June 28 & 29 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The two-day class will be repeated on Thursday and Friday, July 19 & 20.
