Description: The critical components of both written and performance examinations of the Educational Interpreters Performance Assessment (EIPA) will bediscussed in this course. Students will learn the domains and standards that are measured on the EIPA written exam as well as the specific skills that are measured on the EIPA performance exam. Students will be instructed in specific skills that align with EIPA performance standards. Students will also apply written and performance standards to engage in self-assessment. This course will be led by WPCC Coordinator of Interpreter Education Jeffery York. The course will include 1.35 CEUs. |

Foothills Higher Education CenterThis continuing education course is designed to meet the requirements to qualify for work as a Medication Aide. Topics include medication administration via oral routes, medical asepsis, hand hygiene, terminology, and legal implications. Upon completion, students are eligible to take the competency exam and demonstrate skills necessary to qualify for listing on the North Carolina Medication Aide Registry. (Required materials provided) Requirements:
Registration:If you are interested in our Medication Aide class, please call (828) 448-3532 for information on how to register. Once all required documentation has been turned in at the Foothills Higher Education Center, you will follow the registration procedure as follows: Continuing Education classes offered through our Workforce and Professional Development Division, have a pre-registration policy, with the exception of Fire/Rescue, Law Enforcement, HRD and CTP program areas. Students must register and pay any registration fees two business days/48 business hours prior to the start date of the class. For example: Class starts on Monday, the last day to register is Thursday. Students may register via the following methods:

classes are offered at the Foothills Higher Education Center, Room FHEC-123 
of modules developed by a dentist with a background in online and distance learning. The clinical component is completed in 8 hours and incorporates several hands-on exercises, injections on anesthesia manikins, and using Safe-D-Needles before working on a peer patient. Once completed, the hygienist will receive 24 hours of NSBDE-approved continuing education and the required paperwork to submit for your local anesthesia certification.
