This class is for all levels of students, from those interested in their first exploration of the craft to the serious blacksmithing student. The class will focus on the proper, healthy and safe way of using a properly sized and shaped hand forging hammer at the anvil in order to avoid physical injury to the body.
Students will learn to forge various decorative and joinery elements at the anvil. At the completion of the class, the student will have an understanding of blacksmithing, a working knowledge of a safe hand forging technique and a ring with a collection of forged elements representing the skills.

Signing Up for a Personal Enrichment Class
Continuing Education classes offered through our Workforce and Professional Development Division, have a pre-registration policy, with the exception of Fire/Rescue, EMT/EMS, Law Enforcement, HRD and CTP program areas. You must register and pay any registration fees two business days/48 business hours prior to the start date of the class.
