Do I Qualify for Accommodations?

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, a person with a disability is anyone with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, and learning.

Possible Types of Disabilities:

  • Visual impairment
  • Deaf/hearing impairment
  • Mobility impairment
  • Learning disability
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Certain medical conditions
  • Mental health disabilities

Students that were served by an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) or a 504 plan in high school do not automatically qualify for accommodations or services at the postsecondary level.
