Grants, Loans, ScholarshipsThe primary purpose of the WPCC Financial Aid Office is to provide financial assistance to those students, who without such assistance would be unable to attend WPCC.  Financial aid is awarded on a first come – first served basis.

The financial aid office participates in a variety of financial aid programs.  Scholarships and grants are gift awards which do not have to be repaid.  Loans and work study are considered self help aid since repayment or performance of duties are required.

Office Hours

The Financial Aid Office is open and available to serve students from 8am – 5pm Monday through Friday and from 8am – 7:30pm every Monday.  Students are not required to make appointments.  With rare exceptions, a FAO staff member is always available during office hours.

Year Round Pell

Beginning with the 2009-2010 academic year, it is now possible for students to receive additional Pell funds during the Summer - even if the student has already received Pell for the fall and spring.

If students are enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) during both the Fall and Spring term of the academic year, and they enroll in at least 6 credit hours for Summer, they can be eligible for an additional Pell Grant for the Summer .

For example, WPCC defines its year as 24 credit hours.  If the student receives a full-time Pell award in the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 and then enrolls in 6 hours or more in Summer, they would receive an additional Pell grant for the Summer.

Please keep in mind that full-time status for the Pell Grant is ALWAYS 12 credit hours – Fall, Spring, and Summer terms.  If a student enrolls less than 12 credit hours, Pell funds will be prorated or reduced accordingly.
