New In-Person Registration Hours
You can also register and pay in person for Continuing Education and Workforce Development classes with Yvette Logan in Hildebrand Hall, Room 100E [map]. Yvette will be available for registrations Monday-Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Remember, you need to register for classes prior to the class start date (preferably 48 hours prior), allowing time for all payments to process before the class begins.

In this class, students will create a beautiful stained glass mosaic suitable for display. During the first class, students will select from available patterns or adapt their own concept into a 12” x 12” framed substrate, learn the method of breaking stained glass, design a layout and glue pieces into place. In the second class, students will learn to grout, clean and polish their mosaic. Upon completion, students will have a unique piece of art. This class is open to all levels. Students must purchase a wheeled glass mosaic nipper available from hobby stores. All skill levels welcome.

Students will create projects with a specific holiday theme in mind. Using a combination of coil, slab and pinch hand-building techniques, students will create decorative pieces for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Students will learn pottery terminology, gain hands-on experience in all aspects of creating pottery and become acquainted with how a pottery studio operates. Students will finish their project with a glaze of their choice. A basic pottery tool set is recommended for this class and is available for purchase at the campus bookstore. All skill levels welcome.
In this 3-hour workshop, students will have the opportunity to use their imagination to create their very own face mug inspired by traditional North Carolina Folk Pottery! Following a demonstration, students will use clay to hand-build a face onto a hand-turned mug provided by the Instructor. This fun class also provides an ideal introduction to first-time pottery enthusiasts. Students will choose a glaze color for the final firing of their mugs. Mugs will be available for pick-up during the week of October 22. All skill levels welcome.
In this class, students will create a variety of functional drinking vessels using hand-building methods such as slab, coil, and pinch techniques. Students will receive introduction to pattern making, texturing tools, and basic hand-building equipment such as slab roller and extruder. A variety of vessels will be created using slab, coil and pinch pot techniques. Students will learn the fundamentals of functional ware, pottery terminology, gain hands-on experience in all aspects of creating pottery and become acquainted with how a pottery studio operates. Students will finish their project with a glaze of their choice. A basic pottery tool set is recommended for this class and is available for purchase at the campus bookstore. All skill levels welcome. Class will not be held on November 12th.
