1. Students must complete 12 hours of official study time to be eligible for testing. This can be a combination of the time spent at the orientation and online study time.

2. Students must take a TIMED posttest and score at least a 500. Un-timed test scores are not acceptable for test qualification.

3. Once a student has met the first two requirements above, he/she should contact Jean Lilly at 438-6156 for pre-registration information.

GED Testing Registration Process

1.  The student must pay $7.50 (cash only) to the business office in Moore Hall, room 201, on Western Piedmont Community College campus.  Business office hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday.  Someone other than the student may pay this fee as long as the receipt is listed in the student's name.

2.  The Student must bring the receipt, the GED Pre-Registration form, and a current NC Driver's License/NC identification card to the Learning Lab (Moore Hall, room 206).  The application takes 40 minutes to complete.  Arrive before 7:30 pm Monday through Thursday or before 3:00pm on Friday.

*If the Pre-Registration Form requires a TABE Posttest, allow an additional half-hour for the Reading Posttest and an additional half-hour for the Math Posttest.  If taking Posttests, arrive early enough to complete the Posttest by 7:30pm Monday - Thursday or 3:00pm on Friday.
