The Drug and Alcohol Technology prepares students for a variety of
jobs in both public and private agencies and institutions which
offer alcohol and drug education,
counseling, and rehabilitation.
Graduates work with individuals who
are disabled physically and
emotionally by drug and/or alcohol
abuse.
The purpose of this degree is to
prepare individuals to:
Help the
chemically dependent and their
families regain a useful place in
society; Help the
community to be aware of alcohol and
drug problems; Interest employers in
helping and hiring disabled
individuals; and to provide a basis
for further education.
Program courses are accepted by the
N.C. Substance Abuse Professionals
Certification Board for substance
abuse specific and general skill
building hours.
Graduates should find job prospects

Counselor, Intake &
Assessment Counselor, Counselor
