GET REEL! Burke County Public Library Teen Film Contest

Our Mission


GET REEL! Burke County Public Library Teen Film Contest mission is to share the art of  filmmaking with high school teens in the Burke County area. This contest is designed to  encourage teens that are interested in filmmaking to use their creativity to produce a  movie that incorporates the elements of good storytelling. Teamwork is strongly  encouraged as the contestants travel through the process of producing a film. Our goal is that each contestant come away with immeasurable experience in filmmaking and  valuable instruction in the art of storytelling.


Times and Dates


The Kick Off Event and all subsequent workshop meetings will be held at the WPCC Con Ed East Campus building Digital Media lab.

Kick Off: Saturday, October 25. 10:00am - 1:00pm.

Workshop 1: Saturday, November 1. 10:00am - 1:00pm.

Workshop 2: Saturday, November 8. 10:00am - 1:00pm.

Final version of film due: November 17 - 21

Public Screening and Judging at WPCC Leviton Auditorium: Thursday, December 11
